Corban Routs Portland Bible, 108-68

SALEM, Ore. - All thirteen players scored at least four points, as Corban's men's basketball team picked up an exhibition win over first-year program Portland Bible, 108-68, on Tuesday behind a game-high 18 points by junior Wade Douglas.

In a game that does not count on the overall record or statically, the Warriors jumped out to a quick 14-0 lead led by freshman Ian Logan, who scored six of Corban's opening points.

The Warriors continued to apply the offensive pressure and built their lead to as much as 29 points (53-24) with 2:09 remaining in the opening half following a three-pointer by junior Jason Braun.

Douglas converted an old fashion three-point play with 1:37 left before junior Kyle Masten capped the first half scoring with a 3-pointer with 37 ticks left on the clock.

After shooting an amazing 22-for-33 (66.7%) from the field in the opening half, Corban found a lid on the basket for the opening two-plus minutes before senior Ben Sisler nailed the Warriors' seventh 3-pointer of the night off an assist by Masten.

Corban pushed its lead to as much as 41 points (76-35) with 12:49 remaining in the contest following a 3-pointer by freshman Clay Martin.

The Warriors hovered around the 40-point margin throughout the remainder of the game, as senior Joey Jackson and freshman Bryan Martin capped the team's scoring with the final seven Warrior points of the night.

Along with Douglas, Logan and junior Garrett Kauffman added 15 and 12 points respectively while Sisler, Masten, and sophomore Ben Potloff registered nine points apiece. Sisler led the all players with a game-high eight rebounds, while Logan and Clay Martin grabbed 7 and 6 boards respectively.

As a team, Corban shot 39-for-71 (54.9%) from the field, including a season-high 14-for-25 (56.0%) from behind the three-point line. On the other hand, Portland Bible shot 26-for-78 (33.3%) from the field and turned in a mere 1-for-22 (4.5%) performance from beyond the arc.

Corban will return to action on Friday, November 16th, when the Warriors take part in the Allstate Cantillana Tip-Off Classic against host Puget Sound beginning at 8:00 p.m. in Tacoma, Washington.

The men's game will be aired live in Salem on 90.3 KWBX-FM. The pre-game show, Warrior Talk, will begin approximately thirty minutes prior to tip-off with Corban Sports Information Director, Mark Colachico, and Santiam Christian varsity boys' basketball coach and Warrior golf coach, Ron Sisler, teaming up on the broadcast.
