EUGENE, Ore. - With Ohio State's loss to unranked Illinois on Saturday, Oregon and LSU each moved up one position in the latest Bowl Championship Series Standings to second and first, respectively.

The Ducks (8-1, 5-1 Pac-10), who were idle last week, are ranked second in the AP Top 25, USA Today (coaches Poll) and Harris Interactive polls, also up one spot in each from a week ago.

As was the case the past three weeks, the current AP ranking is the team's highest since ending the 2001 season at No. 2 after defeating Colorado in the Fiesta Bowl.

However, this week's ranking marks the first time UO has ever been in the No. 2 slot heading into a regular season game.

Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and West Virginia are third through sixth. Georgia and Virginia Tech follow ASU to complete the top 10. USC is No. 11.

Oregon received 22 first-place votes in the AP and Harris polls, and 13 the USA Today poll, all school firsts.

The Ducks are the highest ranked Pac-10 school in all indexes.

Next up for Oregon is a trip to the desert for a Thursday night nationally televised game against Arizona Nov. 15 on ESPN at 6 p.m. PST.
