MONMOUTH, Ore. - The Western Oregon football team will wrap up the 2008 spring session with a game against its alumni on Friday night at McArthur Field at 6 p.m.

In attendance will be former WOU greats Kevin Boss (New York Giants) and Jeff Charleston (Indianapolis Colts). Although they won't play in the game, they will be available to sign autographs at halftime of the contest.

Boss started at tight end this season in the Super Bowl for the champion Giants, just one season after playing for the Wolves. Charleston played defensive end this year for the defending champion Colts.

Charleston, a Monmouth native and former Central High School standout, played at WOU for three seasons (2001-03) before playing his senior season at Idaho State.

Boss, from Philomath, also played against Charleston in high school.

While neither player will put on a Wolves uniform on Friday night, other former players like Denny Bies (quarterback), Bret Hughes (defensive back), Jamil Wynn (defensive back), and Jon Apgar (linebacker) will. In addition, current local police officers and ex-defensive standouts Isaiah Haines and Matt Olafson will be on the field.

The spring game will wrap up four weeks of practice for the Wolves, who have also had game-like scrimmages at West Linn and West Salem High Schools. Western Oregon will kick-off the 2008 season for real on August 30 at PGE Park against Portland State.
