Western Oregon Softball Ranked No. 8 Nationally

The ranking marks the first time that the Wolves have been nationally ranked since moving to the NCAA Division II level in 2001.

MONMOUTH, Ore. - The Western Oregon women's softball team made its first-ever entry into the national rankings, listing eighth in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division II Top 25.

The ranking marks the first time that the Wolves have been nationally ranked since moving to the NCAA Division II level in 2001. WOU is off to a 7-2 start, which includes victories over then-No. 6 Humboldt State and No. 18 Seattle University.

Coach Pam Knox's team will play their first home games of the 2008 season this week, hosting Central Washington on Thursday (2 pm), Northwest Nazarene on Friday (2 p.m.) and Humboldt State on Sunday (11 a.m.).
