Red Hot Oregon Gets Midwest Region #3 Seed

A limited number of tickets for Oregon students go on sale Tuesday at 9:00 AM.

EUGENE - The Oregon Ducks are headed back to the NCAA Tournament first time since 2003.

After winning the Pacific Life Pac-10 Tournament, and beating three-top ten teams during the regular season, the Ducks earned a #3 seed in the Midwest region.

The Ducks will first face the #14 seed Miami (Ohio) in Spokane, Washington.

Game time Friday is set for 1:55 PM, and can be seen live on CBS.

The Redhawks finished the season 18-14 and like the Ducks, won their conference tournament last week.

A limited number of tickets have been set for purchase for University of Oregon students.

The students can purchase 1st and 2nd round tickets beginning at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, at the south ticket building at Autzen Stadium.

Second Round tickets will only be available once Oregon advances through the 1st Round game.

All tickets purchased must be picked up by the student with their student ID in Spokane.

Will-call hours and times will be announced at a later date.

Defending champion Florida is the #1 seed in the Midwest Region.

Wisconsin is the Midwest Region #2 seed, Arizona is seeded #8.

Other teams in the Midwest Region include; #4 Maryland, #5 Butler, #6 Notre Dame, #7 UNLV, #9 Purdue, #10 Georgia Tech, #11 Winthrop, #12 Old Dominion, #13 Davidson, #15 TAMU-CC, #16 Jackson State.

The Pac-10 has six teams in the tournament: Arizona, Oregon, Stanford, Southern Cal, UCLA, Washington State.

The #1 Seeds for 2007 are: Florida (Midwest), Kansas (West), Ohio State (South), North Carolina (East).
