AquaSox Beat Volcanoes 5-1

Salem-Keizer catcher Henry Gutierrez went 3-for-4 on the night.

EVERETT, Wa. - The Everett AquaSox moved to within one game of first place after beating the first place Salem-Keizer Volcanoes 5-1 Friday night at Everett Memorial Stadium.

Sox second baseman Dean Zorn led the way going 3-for-4 with one run scored and an RBI.

Everett third baseman Leury Bonilla went 1-for-4 hit a two-run homerun in the fourth.

The AquaSox got things started early, scoring two runs in the first.

After the first three batters loaded the bases, designated hitter Adam Moore singled in centerfielder Greg Halman. Right fielder Kuo Hui Lo followed with a sacrifice fly to bring in shortstop Chris Minaker (Stanford Univ & Edmonds-Woodway HS).

The Frogs added Bonilla`s homer and Zorn`s RBI single in the seventh. Starter Steve Uhlmansiek went five innings giving up three hits and striking out four.

The rubber game of the three game series is Saturday at 7:05 PM.
