Oregon's camp for position players starts Feb. 9

EUGENE, Ore. - Oregon baseball coach George Horton and his staff will host the Ducks’ inaugural prospect camps for high school aged players in February at the Moshofsky Center.

A two-day session for position players will take place Feb. 9-10, followed by a camp designed for pitchers and catchers on Feb. 16-17. The cost of each session is $125.

Position players will receive intense instruction on proper swing mechanics, the mental approach to hitting, baserunning and bunting. Session I will also feature position specific instruction including infield and outfield.

At Session II, pitchers will receive instruction on proper mechanics and delivery, fielding their position, controlling the running game and the mental aspect of pitching. Catchers will be instructed on hitting, blocking, receiving, footwork, pitching sequence and how to manage a pitching staff.

Accompanying Coach Horton and his assistants, Jason Gill and Andrew Checketts, will be some of the best high school and junior college coaches from the State of Oregon.

All campers will receive a t-shirt and small meal at the conclusion of each day’s workout.
