Enders Skies Onto UO All-Time Chart

RENO, Nevada - In second and final day action in the 17th Annual Pole Vault Summit, a host of University of Oregon pole vaulters soared to strong marks in their season opener Saturday in the Grand Sierra Convention Center.

Senior Emily Enders led the Duck women’s squad with a final clearance of 13-3 1/2 (4.05m) - a four-inch indoor personal best that moved her into a tie for fourth all-time in school history.

The Snohomish, Wash., native and two-time NCAA outdoor qualifier owned a previous indoor best of 12-11 1/2 (3.95m) from 2006.

Also Saturday, freshman Eniko Eros made her debut for the Ducks and cleared 12-3 1/2 (3.75m), while sophomore Tara Rhein was scheduled to compete later Saturday evening.

On the men’s side, redshirt senior David Moore posted the best result of the day for the UO men (15-7 (4.75m)), and other Ducks that posted marks included freshmen Colin Witter-Tilton and Brian McGinty (15-3 (4.65m)).

Earlier in the day, redshirt sophomore Adam Redmond and freshman Marshall Ackley no-heighted, while freshman Ashton Eaton was scheduled to compete later Saturday evening.

The day before on Friday, senior Tommy Skipper led collegians in the invitational section and ranked fifth overall (18-0 1/2).

The four-time NCAA champion’s mark +18-foot mark was the 13th of his indoor collegiate career.

Looking ahead to next week, a large contingent of men and women will compete in the University of Washington Invitational, Fri.-Sat., Jan. 26th-27th in Seattle.
