Beavers Miranda Nabs Preseason All-America Honor

Oregon State begins the 2008 season on Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. against Winthrop in the Cathedral City Kick Off.

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State senior utility player, Cambria Miranda, has been named an ESPN.com Preseason Second Team All-American in a list announced on the website.

Miranda finished the 2007 season with second team Easton All-America honors, first team All-Pacific Region and first team All-Pac-10 accolades.

She hit a team leading 10 doubles, six triples and 11 home runs with a .328 batting average and .602 slugging percentage playing mainly in left field.

She ranks in the top 10 in six offensive categories in the career record books and set the school single season record for runs with 52 in 2006, coming close last season with 51.

Oregon State begins the 2008 season on Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. against Winthrop in the Cathedral City Kick Off before facing New Mexico State at 8:30 p.m.
