NAMPA, Idaho - Amanda Fleer went 5-for-7 in the doubleheader as the Western Oregon University softball team took two games from Northwest Nazarene, 7-3 and 12-0, Friday, Feb. 27, at Halle Field.

The wins moved Western Oregon to 4-2 in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference as NNU fell to 1-5.

In Game 1, second baseman Amanda Fleer hit two home runs and Jessica Wood pitched a complete game while striking out 10 Crusaders hitters to lead Western Oregon to a 7-3 victory in game one.

Wood went seven innings for her second complete game of the season, giving up just nine base runners and three runs, two earned, to improve to 2-0.

Fleer went 2-for-3 in the game with three RBIs as she went deep in the third and seventh innings. Her homer in the top of the third stretched the Wolves' lead to 5-2 and would prove to be the deciding runs.

Wood also helped her cause at the plate, as she went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Krysta Pennington went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Rocky Knuth reached base in all three of her plate appearances as she went 2-for-2 with a walk and a stolen base. Tyler Sutherland collected three walks out of the leadoff spot with a stolen base and a run scored.
