Yotes Outlast Raiders

ASHLAND, Ore. - In a game that featured woeful shooting, the College of Idaho men’s basketball team had just enough to take down Southern Oregon 55-44 tonight at McNeal Pavilion.

The College of Idaho improved to 4-6 overall and 1-1 in Cascade Conference play. SOU fell to 3-6 overall and 1-1 in conference action. The Raiders are now off until Dec. 15 when they host Fresno Pacific.

SOU held a 23-22 lead at halftime after shooting 39 percent from the field, while the Coyotes shot 38 percent.

In the second half, the Yotes made a run and took control of the game thanks to an improved 45 percent shooting over the last 20 minutes.

SOU shot just 30 percent in the second half. For the game, SOU was 3-for-20 from 3-point land and 1-for-7 from the free throw line.

The College of Idaho’s Bryan Camp led all scorers with 17 points. SOU’s Dustin Vaughn came off the bench for career highs in points (10) and rebounds (11). Freshman Joe White added nine points on three 3-pointers.
