Steigleman Leads Lady Warriors Past Lewis & Clark

With its second straight win, Corban evens its record at 4-4 overall, while Lewis & Clark falls to 3-3 overall.

SALEM, Ore. - Senior Jessica Steigleman recorded game-highs of 22 points and 14 rebounds, as Corban's women's basketball team came-from-behind to defeat NCAA Division III member Lewis & Clark, 64-55, Tuesday evening thanks to a 63.0% shooting clip in the second half.

After shooting 7-for-33 (21.2%) in the opening half, Corban came out and caught fire as the Warriors hit 10 of its first 17 shots en route to erasing a 13-point halftime deficit (34-21).

After tying the game at 41-all via a jumper by Steigleman, Corban watched as the visiting Pioneers tied the game another two times.

After having the score knotted at 51-51, the Warriors used a 5-0 run over a span of 70 seconds capped by another Steigleman jumper with 5:28 showing on the clock. From that point on, Corban never looked back and four straight made free throw in the final 24 seconds sealed the Warriors' nine-point win.

Despite playing without the services of junior point guard Kailey Bostwick, Corban used a point guard trio of junior Ashley Connell, junior Tami Lambrecht, and freshman Natasha Crisman. The trio combined to record a season-low 15 turnovers, while scoring a combined 21 points.

Connell and sophomore Emily Goette aided Steigleman's point total with 14 points each, while freshmen Jennesa Miller and Rachel Harter pulled down five rebounds each to go with Steigleman's game-high performance.

For Lewis & Clark, Tallera Rich led the Pioneers with a team-high 18 points while Crystal Castle and Allison Farr added 17 and 10 points respectively. Farr led Lewis & Clark with eight rebounds, while Castle and Rich added 6 and 5 boards respectively.

As a team, Corban shot 24-for-60 (40.0%) from the field, including 2-for-16 (12.5%) from behind the three-point line and 14-for-21 (66.7%) from the free throw line.

Meanwhile, Lewis & Clark was 23-for-56 (41.1%) from the field, 2-for-11 (18.2%) from beyond the arc, and 7-for-15 (46.7%) from the free throw line.

The Warriors return to the floor on Friday, December 7th, when they travel to Monmouth for a match up with NCAA Division II member Western Oregon beginning at 7:00 p.m.
