Salem-News.com - The Portland Trail Blazers continue to celebrate the holiday season in unbeatable form. Brandon Roy scored 22 points, LaMarcus Aldridge had 21 and the Trail Blazers brought their league-high winning streak to a dozen with a 109-98 home-court victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night.

"The streak is great," said Roy, averaging 22.9 points in the run. "But right now, we're doing our best to win basketball games and get better."

14 points were sunk by Jarrett Jack. Another reserve Channing Frye threw 13 for Portland (17-12) which matched the second longest streak in franchise history, and is four wins shy of its all-time mark set during the 1990-91 season.

"We're just trying to keep the momentum going," were the words of Trail Blazers head coach Nate McMillan. "We're' just trying to find ways to improve."

Al Jefferson scored 22 points and Rasheed McCants added 21 for league-worst Minnesota (4-24) which fell to 1-14 on the road.

Portland led 55-46 at halftime and carried a 78-69 advantage into the final quarter before pulling away.

Roy scored 10 points in a 15-4 run to open the period, pushing the lead to 93-74 with 6:28 remaining, and the Blazers cruised home.
