Kansas Leads Memphis at Half, 33-28

SAN ANTONIO - It's been a battle from the start.

Kansas went on a 5-0 run to end the half as the Jayhawks lead the Memphis Tigers 33-28 at the half in the 2008 NCAA men's basketball tournament at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

Darrell Arthur leads Kansas with 10 points and 3 rebounds, while Mario Chalmers has 7 points and 3 rebounds, and star guard Brandon Rush has added 6 points and two rebounds. The Jayhawks (36-3) are shooting 51 percent from the field and 16 percent (1-6) from behind the 3-point line.

Chris Douglas-Roberts leads the Tigers with 13 points, while Memphis super-freshman Derrick Rose is having an off-night so far with 3 points, but does have 4 rebounds and 4 assists. The Tigers are shooting 39 percent from the field and 30 percent from behind the 3-point line. The Jayhawks defense held Rose scoreless for the final 16 minutes of the half.

Kansas is out rebounding Memphis 16 to 11.
