STANFORD, Calif. - Sophomore Audrey Roderfeld (Vista, Calif.) went 2-for-2, hitting her 12th home run of the season, but the Beavers came up short against No. 4 Stanford, 6-3, on Saturday afternoon at Boyd & Jill Smith Family Field. Oregon State (24-24, 3-11) tallied six hits from five different players with Roderfeld recording the only extra base hits between both teams. Stanford (40-6, 9-5) took the early 2-0 lead before Roderfeld ripped one over the left field fence, banking off the scoreboard to put a run on the board for the Beavers to lead off the second. Oregon State tacked a couple more runs in the top of the fourth, starting with Roderfeld’s one-out double through the left side. Roderfeld advanced to third on an error by second baseman Maddy Coon, setting up senior Stefanie Ewing (Scottsdale, Ariz.) to tally her 30th RBI of the season on a single up the middle. Two batters later, senior DeAnn Young (Camarillo, Calif.) chalked up the team’s third RBI of the game on a single. The Beavers had one batter reach in the following three innings, but each time the runner was left stranded after the inning closed. Freshman Paige Hall (Portland, Ore.) was charged with the complete game loss, striking out one, making her record 14-10.
