Linfield Trio Named to All-NWC Team

McMINNVILLE, Ore. - Three Linfield College women’s tennis players have earned Northwest Conference all-star recognition.

Kasey Kuenzli (Sr., Corvallis, Ore.) received first team honors while teammates Kelli Sides (Sr., Redmond, Ore.) and Sallie Katter (Soph., Salem, Ore.) received second team all-star acclaim.

Kuenzli was awarded her third NWC all-star recognition, including the 2006 Player of the Year. She was voted the NWC player of the week three times in 2008, dominating at No. 1 with a 15-5 singles record and an 18-3 mark in doubles.

Playing most of the season at No. 2, Sides earned her second all-star citation. She posted an 11-9 singles record and a 12-8 doubles mark for the year.

Earning her first NWC all-star recognition was Katter. As the Wildcats' No. 3 singles player, she compiled a 12-3 record and was 16-4 in doubles.

The Wildcats finished 18-5 overall and a perfect 18-0 in conference play. They won their seventh straight NWC title and earned an automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Regional tournament.
