Western Oregon Takes Down Corban, 7-3

The Wolves improved to 20-12 on the year with the win and have now won nine of its last 10 games.

SALEM, Ore. - Tyler Moore had three hits, including a double and a home run as Western Oregon picked up a 7-3 non-conference baseball win over Corban College on Tuesday in Salem.

The Wolves improved to 20-12 on the year with the win and have now won nine of its last 10 games.

Moore hit a solo home run in the sixth inning, and then drove in another plate crossing during a three-run seventh for the visitors. Western Oregon had 12 hits in the game, including two each by Joe Pratt, Drew Humphrey and Ryan Lewis.

Four different WOU pitchers toed the rubber, with reliever Mike Ward picking up the win (5-1) after throwing two scoreless innings in relief.

Craig Spicer, Daniel Flores and Rondie Taylor had two hits each to lead Corban.

Western Oregon will return to Great Northwest Athletic Conference play this Saturday and Sunday with a four-game series at Montana State Billings.

With the loss, Corban falls to 6-16 overall. The Warriors will be back in action again on Friday, April 4th, when they travel south to Klamath Falls for a Cascade Collegiate Conference game against the Hustlin' Owls of Oregon Tech beginning at 3:00 p.m.
