EUGENE, Ore. - Oregon women's basketball head coach Bev Smith announced Tuesday that junior point guard Tamika Nurse will not return to play at Oregon next year.

"The end of our season conversations with Tamika that have taken place during the last three weeks, have resulted in a decision to release Tamika from her commitment to the University of Oregon," Smith said.

Nurse is free to transfer to another institution.

"We thank Tamika for her contributions to our program and we wish her well in her future endeavors," Smith said. "As we move forward, we do so with a highly motivated group of young women who are 100 percent dedicated and committed to the high standards and expectations of basketball excellence here at Oregon."

Nurse played three seasons for the Ducks from 2005-08. She played in 90 career games averaging 6.7 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.
