Linfield Freshman Wins Hoops Honor

The Wildcats improved this year finishing 14-11 overall and 9-7 in the NWC.

McMINNVILLE, Ore. - Linfield College men’s basketball center K.C. Wiser (Fr., Tigard, Ore.) has earned distinction as the West Region Rookie of the Year as announced by D3hoops.com.

Wiser was a second team Northwest Conference all-star selection for 2007-08. He was the only freshman named to the all-star team, ranking fourth in NWC statistics in rebounding (7.0 per game). He led the ‘Cats with 160 total rebounds and nine blocked shots. He averaged 14.7 points a game, 12th-best in the NWC.

The Wildcats improved by leaps and bounds with Wiser in the lineup, finishing 14-11 overall and in a tie for third place in the NWC with a 9-7 record. The Wildcats placed last the nine-team league each of the previous two seasons before Wiser’s arrival.
