Thirteen Oregonians In Need Receive Free Sight-Saving Surgery During Mission Cataract Oregon Page 2
Participating Lions Clubs and OLSHF help to identify individuals in need of cataract surgeries, and then team with an ophthalmologist to perform the surgery as part of the program. By working with community providers, OLSHF will allocate funds saved to assist more people in need through other Foundation programs. Qualifying individuals must live at no more than 150% of the Federal Poverty line and interested individuals in need should contact their local Lions Club for a "Patient Care" application.
Since 1959, OLSHF has taken an active role in protecting the health of Oregonians. Through seven direct service programs related to sight, hearing, and health assistance, the Foundation has transformed the lives of hundreds of thousands of youths and adults in our state.
Through various partnerships with surgeons across the state, the goal of OLSHF is to hold several Mission Cataract events throughout the year. If you would like to become a partnering provider or receive an application, please contact Programs Manager, Kerith Vance, at (503) 413-7399.
