Newkirk has fired off a letter to Senator Hillary Clinton condemning her for placing a bet in the Kentucky Derby and imploring her to publicly denounce horseracing.
PETA's plea comes just one day after the horse whom Clinton reportedly bet on, Eight Belles, broke both of her front ankles and was euthanized after being whipped across the finish line at the Kentucky Derby. Read Full Article

(PULLMAN, Wash.) - Daniel Robertson went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and Lonnie Lechelt was 2-for-4 but the 23rd-ranked Oregon State baseball team dropped the series opener to Washington State, 10-3, Saturday night at Bailey-Brayton Field.
For Robertson, it was his 12th multiple-hit game of the season. He doubled in the third and scored and singled in the fifth. His first run of the game came in the first after getting hit by a pitch as the second batter of the game. Read Full Article

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Junior quarterback Lyle Moevao passed for 226 yards and Justin Kahut booted four field goals to lead the White team to a 22-3 victory in the annual Spring Game at Reser Stadium, marking the last of the scrimmages in Division I football.
Kahut, a sophomore who appeared in one game last season (Idaho State), had people thinking school record holder kicker Alexis Serna won’t be missed this season.

Kelsey, a red-shirt freshman from Hudson's Bay High School (Vancouver, Wash.), took advantage of his playing opportunity to crack 100 yards on just six carries. He scored a touchdown and had another run of 55 yards to highlight WOU's running game.
