(EUGENE, Ore.) - The Oregon volleyball team closed its nonconference slate by defeating Seattle in straight sets, 25-13, 25-13, 25-21, Tuesday to move to 10-0 this season.

How it Happened: The Ducks came out firing from the start, winning the first two sets handily, never trailing in either set. Oregon hit .588 in set number one and .310 in the second while holding the Redhawks to a negative hitting percentage at the intermission.

The third set required a little more attention from the Ducks. The two teams were tied at 21 before two Taylor Agost aces, bookended by Martenne Bettendorf kills ended the match on a 4-0 run.

The balanced attack was the tale offensively yet again. With a lot of errors by the Redhawks, Oregon did not get a lot of swings throughout the match but the attempts were spread all around the floor.

Bettendorf led the team with nine kills while Liz Brenner and Naya Crittenden each tallied eight.

What it Means: Even after being a week removed from competition, and a rivalry match against Oregon State quickly approaching, Jim Moore noted how pleased he was with the team’s focus during the match. Oregon made it nearly impossible for Seattle to string points together in the first two sets, putting up sideout percentages of 92% in both sets.

Moore Ties Record: Jim Moore is now tied with Karla Rice as the winningest coach in Oregon volleyball history with 196 wins during his 10 years at Oregon.

Notes and Numbers: Oregon held Seattle to .046 hitting, the lowest hitting percentage allowed by the Ducks this season…Eugene native Allie Rogers made her debut in an Oregon uniform and recorded three digs in the process…Amanda Benson led the team with 11 digs.

Up Next: The Ducks face Oregon State in the first installment of the Civil War, Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Matthew Knight Arena. Fans who purchase tickets will receive a voucher for a free ticket to the match against Colorado on Saturday.
