(SUTHERLIN, Ore.) - While search efforts go nationwide to bring Mark Bosworth home, Mark’s daughters and wife are taking to the streets of Sutherlin to raise awareness about his disappearance. The family, joined by friends and coworkers of Mark’s from Metro, will be distributing fliers in downtown Sutherlin and other small towns around Riddle, as well as at rest stops and truck stops along I-5 from Riddle to the California-Oregon border. “Everyone in Riddle now knows about Dad’s disappearance,” said Claire Bosworth, one of Mark’s daughters. “We need to spread out now and talk with people in the nearby towns so they can be looking out for Dad.” Mark disappeared late on the night of Friday, September 16 in Riddle, Oregon, after volunteering with Cycle Oregon. Mark has battled cancer in the past and appeared confused on the night he went missing, as well as in the days prior. A post on the www.FindMark.org website shares more about Mark’s condition in the days right before he disappeared. Mark thought he was, “in Canada (even though he was in Oregon)” and “on the East Coast.” The post goes on to say, “Doctors say Mark may think he (currently) lives someplace he lived 20 years ago.” Also, two days before he went missing, the post indicates that Mark got into a pizza delivery vehicle and fell asleep. “Mark did not know the car or the owner. The driver found Mark and woke him.” Mark covered up the just how confused he was when confronted by family and friends. According to the blog post, “Mark insisted in his typical affable manner, ‘I am just fine.’” The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has authorized overtime for staff to monitor the tip line for calls about Mark, according to Claire. “They are quickly following up on any tips that come in,” she said. The tip line number is 541-957-2099. Mark’s disappearance is case number 11-3534. A $10,000 reward is being offered by Deckers Outdoor Corporation, which employs Mark’s wife Julie. People can help the Find Mark effort by sharing Mark’s website, www.findmark.org, and fliers with friends and through their social networks. When tweeting, use #findmarkbosworth.
