(NEWPORT, Ore. ) - The 23rd annual SOLV Great Oregon Fall Beach Cleanup will take place on Saturday, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and it is the time and the beach is the place for all Oregonians to show their commitment to the breathtaking Oregon coast.

With 42 sites to choose from spanning the entire coastline, volunteers can come down to the beach.

Volunteers simply check in, pickup a bag and stroll down their favorite beaches to cleanup unsightly marine debris, such as plastic water bottles and soda can rings.

Planning on bringing a large group to pitch in? Groups of 20 or more are asked to pre-register.

For site maps and other information please visit SOLV’s website at www.solv.org or call 1-800-333-SOLV (Toll free in Oregon).

SOLV suggests bringing some gloves, wearing study shoes and being safe for this great event.

Founded in 1969 by Oregon Governor Tom McCall to address litter and vandalism problems, SOLV's mission has expanded to reach every county in the state and to bring together government agencies, businesses and individuals in programs and projects to enhance the livability of Oregon.

Because of this expansion SOLV no longer calls itself "Stop Oregon Litter and Vandalism" and has adopted the acronym, SOLV, as its official name.
