Sep-11-2009 12:14TweetFollow @OregonNews Olberman Unloads Over Wrong Way Wilson & the 'Flying Monkeys of Right Wing Media'Tim King Salem-News.comGetting a perspective on Joe Wilson's "You Lie" moment before the President and Congress.
(SALEM, Ore.) - Writing about Joe Wilson and his ridiculous behavior this week toward the President of the United States, is too broad of an opportunity. Who better to put it into perspective than MSNBC's Keith Olberman; the King of the American media love/hate relationship? Wilson sank the Republican party farther into the abyss than expected, and he yelled at a President who had just complimented the work of his former opponent for the hotly contested Presidential race, Senator John McCain. In fact McCain was a welcome site with his broad smile, perhaps reminding many of us of a kinder, gentler McCain than we saw during the Presidential race. But then there is Joe "Wrong Way" Wilson as Olberman so affectionately refers to him. He just couldn't help himself. He just had to do it. It reminded me of a school bully who tells a kid he is going to "get him" after school. They almost always do it too, sometimes to their own detriment, or so we hope. Directing his comments specifically to Wilson, Olberman says, "You embarrassed your district, you embarrassed your nation... and you were wrong!" Olbermann says Wilson "made himself look like an uninformed eight-year-old screaming at an adult." It led to apologies from "Wrong Way", but that is all after the fact stuff. There is no way to go back and change it. You certainly can't rip on people like Wilson without mentioning other GOP stars like Sarah Palin and the good old Limbaugh/Savage/O'Rielly team. These "Flying Monkeys of Right Wing Media" as he humorously describes them, are the gurus for a handful of greedy rich CEO's, insurance company executives, pharmaceutical manufacturers and of course developers, and a line of nearly identical sheep who parrot the words of these fools. The bottom line on all of this, is that the things the GOP operatives claim are true, are false. They fail the fact checkers routinely and Obama passes. I think that speaks volumes about the state of our nation and the mainstream media. Olberman is a rare personality in this day and age, and he levels these characters in a way that only leaves a trace of smoke and debris. Go get 'em Keith, it's neither liberal nor conservative to stick up for your country this way; it is just honest and it is more than fair to call people out for who and what they really are. Here is Keith Olberman's comment from MSNBC and YouTube: Tim King is a former U.S. Marine with twenty years of experience on the west coast as a television news producer, photojournalist, reporter and assignment editor. In addition to his role as a war correspondent, this Los Angeles native serves as Salem-News.com's Executive News Editor. Tim spent the winter of 2006/07 covering the war in Afghanistan, and he was in Iraq over the summer of 2008, reporting from the war while embedded with both the U.S. Army and the Marines. Update for sam , Rob Miller the underdog against the 5 term sitting congressman raised over $1000000 in the last few days . In the first 6 months of the year Rob Miller the two tour Iraq combat veteran raised only $67,000 . Sam , Rob Miller had a zero chance , now his campaign is energized , and you think this helps wilson ? Sam nice spin you learned well from your idols at fox !

Update for Daniel: Wilson campaign: Fundraising breaks $1 million, passes Miller
A source on Rep. Joe Wilson's campaign says his fundraising has broken $1 million -- and surpassed that of his Democratic rival, Rob Miller -- since his outburst of "You lie!" during President Obama's address to Congress Wednesday. ---Snip--- Still, Wilson's success -- despite having been criticized by Republican leaders -- represents the power of the conservative grassroots to reward politicians who confront the White House in the sharpest terms.

My guess is that some elections coming up this November, specifically the governor slots for new Jersey and Virginia, may reflect a great deal on the mood of the American voter. As more time goes by the less Bush is relevant. Most polls lately show that America wants jobs and healthcare is down on that list of priorities. Wilson is a distraction and the way news cycles change he won't be of any national consequence by next wednesday if not sooner. I'm surprised ACORN has not received more coverage, considering an investigative bit that exposed several employees with serious fraudulent behavior with our tax money and that the U.S. Census just terminated their services with them for the 2010 census count. They receive hundreds of millions in tax money so what's going on?

Its true Joe Wilson raised about $750,000 , his opponent rob Miller took in over a million . Miller who lost by 8 % last time , had no chance to beat the sitting congressman , but now has a slightly better chance against his popular opponent . Maybe Joe is thinking of leaving politics and becoming a talk show host , he has a good start , and the pay can be much better .

Below is a link to Rep. Joe Wilsons congressional website. Please note he has four sons currently in the military and two are Iraq combat veterans. It is also reported in the wake of the controversy Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) sparked by shouting “You lie!” during President Barack Obama’s address to a joint session of Congress on Wednesday, a Republican source said the Congressman had raised about $700,000 by this afternoon.

Democrats booed President Bush's joint congressional speech, and not just one individual: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2009/09/10/flashback_democrats_boo_bush_at_2005_state_of_the_union.html On July 22, Obama said there were 47 million uninsured -- and on September 9, we're down to 30 million uninsured. Well, that seems to me a huge improvement! Seventeen million people got health insurance and we haven't done one aspect of Obama's plan! Obama said that they would increase revenue by at least $500 billion by cleaning up Medicare corruption. So why not do it now? If you believe the government will clean up a mess that they created then I have a bridge for sale. I want somebody out there who thinks Obama made a great speech today and Bloomberg echoing it, to tell me how it is that our 'fractured sense of community service' led to the 'crimes' committed against us on 9/11. And I want to know from you how it is that rekindling this 'spirit of community service,' whatever the hell that means, is going to prevent the next attack on this country? How come they aren't demanding Charlie Rangels resignation? This is a distraction that is back firing because the majority agree with Rep. Wilson's characterization and it is completely verified as factual. It really is people.
Editor: Maybe nobody told you, Barack won. He slammed your candidate in the election and you people were ready to go with all of this needless BS simply because you are really bad losers. But you are losers, and the head of that pack of losers is George W. Bush. I have a son that served two tours in Iraq, and we're damned lucky we still have him. That was a needless war and any real American has what it takes to call a spade a spade. Those democrats gave your boy W. a walking pass the likes of nothing anyone ever imagined..
So, the entire nation knows what an embarrassment Wilson was on this one. It isn't to say that he doesn't have good qualities, or that he hasn't done good things or that his sons aren't honorable, it is to say that Wilson is a damned embarrassment in the farthest use of the word, and he is so outclassed by Obama that he might as well just retire. What really gets me is that you would advocate for him under any conditions, any. That means you have no credibility, the more radical members of your cause head that list.

In fact.. no proof here, just theory, but Wilson takes major contributions from the health care insurance industry. I would be willing to bet, that he spoke up, for the EXACT same reasons that you quote in your article. To give obama more ammo. Your article proves that. He gave obama more ammo, is what your article quotes, kinda :-). And he is taking contributions from the health care insurance industry.. Getting the point here yet?

If it is not obvious to anyone out there, that we have a one party system, and that the main agendas continue the same, I truly feel sorry for you. Tim: love ya brother, but you might want to look into your own party, and the lies, continually, before exposing the lies of the other party. They all lie. But their agenda stays on track. World domination. They are crashing the U.S. economy to bring in a world bank, now they are moving towards a world health care system. No matter what party, the agenda stays the same. World domination. If politicians dont follow the agenda, whether left or right, they will be discarded. Wake up Tim, the truth is right in front of your face. Dont let obama's charm fool you. Enough said. Time to wake up, or discard the Constitution, which I think you held an oath to, and let the U.N. make the decisions for the U.S. Its time to choose.

Osama is a crook, somebody needed to tell him to his face. If this country doesn't rid itself of this "liberal," "progressive," "conservative," "red-state," "blue-state" crap, and pay attention to what these fascists are up to instead of pointing fingers at each other, this country is toast. McCain was a welcome site (sic)? What is this disease that makes people in this country actually think that DC is anything but a crime syndicate? McBush is a punk and a war criminal. I'd like to beat him so badly that he couldn't stand for 3 days. And as soon as he did, I'd do it again. If I saw on the news that everybody in DC had been stuffed into a space capsule and shot into the heart of the Sun, anybody who got between me and a liquor store would need a good medical plan.
Editor: Well he used to be a funded friend of the U.S. but I can't say I really know much about Osama. You talk really tough and that is cool, but I have learned that my anger doesn't get me far, at least not always. Anyway, down with Bush and Osama, I'm with you!
