Oregon National Guard Soldier is Killed in Afghanistan

Sgt. Nathaniel Brad Lindsey was part of the military contingent based in Afghanistan until next summer.

(KANDAHAR, Afghanistan) - An Oregon National Guard soldier died after an attack by Taliban militants September 9th in Afghanistan's Zabul province. Sgt. Nathaniel Brad Lindsey of Troutdale was on patrol with U.S. troops and members of the Afghan National Army when Taliban militants attacked either with improvised explosive devices or rocket propelled grenades, and small arms fire. The attack took place mid-afternoon on Saturday near the town of Shajoy in Zabul province north of Kandahar province. Sgt. Lindsey was assigned to the 205th Regional Corps Advisory Group headquartered at Kandahar Airfield. The 205th RCAG is responsible for training and working closely with elements of the Afghan National Army.
