(PENDLETON, Ore.) - A West Valley City, Utah couple died Monday afternoon in a single vehicle rollover crash along Interstate 84 about two miles west of Pendleton.

Preliminary information from Oregon State Police Trooper Michael Wolf explains that at about 1:22 p.m. a 1999 Mercedes Benz four-door driven by 68-year old Asim Cutuk, from West Valley City, Utah was eastbound on Interstate 84 near milepost 205 when, for an unknown reason, it traveled off the right side of the freeway and struck a guardrail.

The Mercedes then came back across the eastbound lanes and into the center median where it rolled and came to rest on its top. Asim Cutuk and his wife/passenger, 69-year old Vasvija Cutuk, were not using safety restraints and were both ejected. They were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Their names are being released following confirmation of next of kin notification in Snohomish County, Washington.

OSP troopers from the Pendleton Area Command office are continuing the investigation and attempting to determine the cause of the crash. ODOT and Pendleton Fire & Rescue assisted at the scene.

who is this person Nancy Geraths, and I'm also wondering: why is this accident case taking so long to come up with the conclusion as to what happened in the middle of brod day light with so many witnesses and no one would come forward and say anything. I'm Asim and Vasfija's oldest grand son. Spent my whole life with these extraordinary people and it just breaks my heart to see how unfortunately a human society operates. After all, these people are someones family members-mom, dad, uncle, grandparents and wonderful people who wouldn't hurt even a fly. They deserve to rest in peace. Anyone with information call me at my cell 602-677-1300 thank you. I have to add that I'm really disappointed at Pendleton police department for handleing this case as they did.
