Where Is There A Real Christian Church?

There are many reasons that trust is fleeting and faith is more misunderstood than ever.

(CLEVELAND) - Have Christians lost their way for the most part? It seems the message that the church exists to communicate is all too frequently forgotten, replaced by personal needs and desires, social quests and networking for the sake of business and prosperity.

It's supposed to be about love and fidelity, honesty, thoughtfulness and kindness; caring for the poor and underprivileged.

Yet churches can become halls of judgment, and places of scorn and shame, and there is a long list of other things. Many who claim to be Christians today actually admit that they do not assist or care for the poor, and in fact reserve for the less fortunate their scorn, and derision.

They are empowered by people who reach millions, Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Coulter, Savage, and their messages could not be any more non-Christian than they are. Their words of hate and encouragement of violence are absolutely no reflection of the needs or wishes of God.

It doesn't take a statistician to see how many people have bailed out of the religious institutions and never step foot inside.

Perhaps media has overpowered the message that the church gives, and with a majority of religious organizations backing the powers that victimize the poor through non-Christian like legislation, the massive Republican stranglehold on Christianity; etc., there are always increasingly more reasons that trust is fleeting and faith is more misunderstood than ever. -
intro by Tim King

Where Is There A Real Christian Church?

Exhaustedly, sincerely, diligently I search,
Where is there a real Christian church?
More than anything it loves, honors my Father,
Because, God certainly did not have to bother.

To send His only Son to die on the cross,
If it was not for the Blood all should be lost,
Who could withstand His anger and wrath?
Fire, brimstone, how long would you last?

God alone created the heavens, our universe,
Giving us the bible in chapters and verse,
Take the #1 commandment and rehearse,
Why are many churches not putting Him 1st?

Hold on! Just what do you mean? In my church He is,
Not when Mike’s talking to Sue & Ben’s flirting with Liz,
Just where is that snoring from is someone actually asleep?
“Leave them alone, they’ll come home, ” is this Little Bo Peep?

Constant eating, talking, kids playing, I am getting mad,
That’s enough, I’ve had it, no place else can be this bad,
I’m making a list starting today; soon I’ll be visiting others,
OMG! These souls are worse than my sisters and brothers.

I came to hear a sermon from Reverend Bob or Pastor Brad,
While they're preaching I don't care to hear what Miss Sally had,
Neither am I interested in a new outfit or why that one you chose,
Oh, it matches the color combinations of your children’s clothes.

Maybe it’s me, is it possible that I’m expecting too much?
Then again, aren’t we all there to receive a spiritual touch?
But, how can the blessings fall upon us and not to mention?
Our family and friends when they neglect to pay attention?

Praise God for forgiveness or this structure He might demolish,
Excuse ma’am I’m queasy please put away your fingernail polish,
And you over there yes you, stop munching on crackers & cheese,
Oops! Relax, my bad how rude of me, sorry, I forgot to say please.

Excuse me kind sir if you don’t mind stop smacking on the chips,
Say what? After you put them in you mouth just close your lips,
And you young lady would you mind not slurping Vitamin Water,
BTW, the same request goes when giving some to your daughter.

My, my, my, could anything worse than this possibly happen next?
Oh no, it simply can’t be, are they really sending & receiving a text?
Wait a minute; take a look at those two sitting in the pew over there,
Is one actually putting on make-up while the one is doing her hair?

I think it’s utterly amazing that a judge residing in a court of law,
Gets more respect than a preacher upon arrival, as all will stand tall,
Pull the mess done at church in any presiding judge’s courtroom,
A contempt of court fine or jail time will instantly spell your doom.

Somewhere, somehow, there has to be a real Christian church,
Yes! I cannot be the only one daily, weekly, monthly to search,
So, now that you know me if you find one please do not forget,
Tell me & if it’s out of range I’ll attend service via the Internet.

Why has church become more of a social club or gathering place?
Members talk about others behind the back but smile face to face,
With all the crap inside the walls of church no wonder many hate it,
Adultery, drugs, stealing tithes by pulpit pimps is church overrated?

Luke Easter is a poet who writes about things that are very close to the heart of Salem-News.com. Another former U.S. Marine, Luke heals the world with an approach that reaches people on a different level, one known for centuries, yet too often forgotten in the one we live in.

We live in a world of social & economic injustice. The main reason for founding America in the first place was to relieve the oppression of the King of England. Patrick Henry said it best, “give me liberty or give me death.” And yet, all too often death seems to be the only way out. Why is there such a high suicide rate especially among teens, in the land of the free & the home of the brave? What makes headlines? Good news? Ha! More depressing stories than anything else. I feel poetry takes an edge off the hurt of bad news while still delivering it but in a, “glitzy” sort of way. Giving a different perspective. Kind of like slap in the face as opposed to a knife in the back. At least with the slap you’ll live to see another day and you will know whom it’s from. I wasn’t here for the beginning of the world but at 59, I just might be here for the end.

Even though it’s still a knife, rhyme poetry helps to dull the blade. And that’s my job. You can write to Luke Easter at: lyricsfromlucas@aol.com

there were a few good small gatherings of Christians in Iraq. Real Christians. Saddam left them alone as long as they kept it low key. After the U.S. invasion, they are all gone, dead, misplaced. Rough times for true (non-braiwashed) Christians. All the churches are 501C3 now, so nothing but government entities. Even mainstream news posted what I brought up years ago that over 30,000 pastors are now contracted to tell their flock to obey the government in time of civil dissent. (Romans 13) ie: give up your guns, take your vaccines, go to a FEMA camp etc. This is a fact by the way. research it yourself.
