The comfortable habit of leaving children in front of the T.V. in order for them not to bother much around the house, does not do them any favor. Instead, it deteriorates their health. Two scientists from New Zealand have demonstrated that watching too much T.V. during childhood increases the possibility of being much more directly obese than by eating unhealthy or by not exercising. About 41 percent of people who are overweight by the age of 26 coincide with those who were in front of the T.V. most of their childhood.

The U.S. Center for Consumer Freedom launched an ad campaign against obesity questioning whether obesity is an epidemic or a myth. This is an example of how one chooses to ignore the critical reality in the most obese country in the world.
