BREAKING NEWS! 4-Car/Semi Crash West of Salem

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Emergency crews are on the scene of a four vehicle crash on Highway 221 at Zena Road. The aftermath of the crash has traffic blocked and detoured. A semi-truck involved in the crash shows substantial damage.

A witness at the scene told Salem-News that the truck driver was not at fault, "The 18-wheeler looked like he tried to avoid the accident" the witness added, reported that a number of cars appeared to have crashed into the truck.

Of the several cars that appeared to be involved in the crash, at least one came to rest in a ditch. On the roadway around the crash scene, are car parts, bumpers and broken glass. There is no word yet on injuries.

The Yamhill County Sheriff's Office, Oregon State Police, and Polk County fire crews are on scene.

The accident is about 6 miles west of Salem. Traffic is being detoured at the Lincoln Store.

The crash happened sometime after 3:00 PM, traffic was being re-routed around the Lincoln Store.

That would be Spring Valley Fire on the scene, not Polk County Fire. The ambulance ehvn says so on the back!
