(SALEM, Ore.) - Families are invited to learn together about the creatures who share our planet. Kids and parents can see and handle a variety of animals under the supervision of trained staff at "Creature Features," presented through OMSI.

"Creature Features" is the first of the 2007-2008 Family Festival of the Arts series, offering free family-friendly shows on the third Friday of the month throughout the school year.

The show kicks off at 7:00 PM Friday, October 26th in Loucks Auditorium at Salem Public Library, 585 Liberty Street SE.

What is the difference between a land turtle and a water turtle? A lizard and a snake? A venomous snake and a harmless one? This program from OMSI takes a close look at many unique adaptations animals have developed to enable them to survive in widely different environments.

Seating is free on a first-come, first-seated basis, with doors opening at 6:45 PM Family Festival of the Arts programs are supported by a donation from the Friends of Salem Public Library. More information is available at 503-588-6088 or salemlibrary.org.
