(MILWAUKIE, Ore.) - Several police officers in the Milwaukie area received stings after a suspect they were pursuing tried to hide from them, near a hornet's nest. This morning at 9:19 AM, a Milwaukie Police officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a minor traffic violation on SE Railroad and SE 40th in Milwaukie. He said the suspect failed to yield to the officer and a short pursuit ensued. Police say the driver abandoned the vehicle in the 7600 block of SE Southgate and officers from the Milwaukie Police Department and the Clackamas County Sheriff's office responded. Officer Kevin Krebs with Milwaukie Police says that after a brief neighborhood search with a K9 unit from the Clackamas County Sheriff's office, the suspect was located in the backyard of a residence. "The suspect was lying near a hornet's nest when found and failed to comply with officer commands. After the use of a Taser the suspect complied and was taken into custody." They arrested 35-year old Dion Anthony Boyle of Oregon City. He was charged with Felony Elude, Possession of a Controlled Substance, DUII and Misdemeanor Driving while Suspended. He was also held on a detainer warrant from Multnomah County. A Milwaukie officer, a Clackamas County Sheriff's deputy and the suspect all received minor injuries from multiple stings. All three were treated at the scene. The suspect is scheduled for a video arraignment at 3:00 PM on October 10th.
