Fatal Three-Vehicle Crash in Salem

Police released limited information about those involved in the crash.



(SALEM, Ore.) - The Marion County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal, three vehicle crash in the 5700 block of Silverton Road NE. Five of the six occupants involved in the crash have been transported to local hospitals with varying degrees of injury. The Sheriff's Office can confirm that one occupant involved in the crash is deceased.

Silverton Road is closed between Lardon Road NE and 64th Avenue NE while the Marion County Sheriff's Office CRASH Team conducts a forensic investigation of the crash scene. If traveling between Silverton and Salem drivers are urged to use other roadways to prevent congestion.

The Sheriff's Office will be able to provide the names of the other drivers and passengers as well as the name of the deceased once all family notifications have been made.

As governed by HIPPA regulations the Sheriff's Office will not release any further medical information regarding the occupants of the crash.
