(JEFFERSON, Ore.) - Picture this. It's a recession, housing values are plunging and small businesses that had only recently opened their doors have begun to struggle to stay afloat. Not so at Troutman Photography, a small photography studio in Jefferson, Ore., which one year ago opened its doors to more than 40 potential clients with its Monster Mash Photo Bash Food Drive. Since that time it's added to its client list, become ADA compliant and improved upon the studio. Daniel Troutman, photographer and co-owner of the business with wife Clare Troutman, also saw some firsts. "I had my first session with infant twins this year" says Troutman, "and photographed our first Homecoming." In addition, Troutman, working with local non-profits like SafeHaven Humane Society, has expanded its network of potential clients. Troutman Photography raised $300 for SafeHaven in May, and have planned its first Halloween 'pets only' fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30 at its 121 S. Main Street location with pets in Halloween costumes as the focus of the event. But humans have not been forgotten with the second annual Monster Mash Photo Bash on Oct 31st – and they plan to collect 2 cans of food for each 5x7 photo. Visitors to last year's event donated more than 220 pounds of food and Troutman Photography hopes to deliver more boxes of non-perishable foods this year to the Jefferson Fire Department for their Thanksgiving baskets. Call Deb Keehn at Jefferson Fire Department 541-327-2822 to make a direct donation. In addition, negotiations are in the works for Santa Claus visits – Mr. Claus, a North Pole native, needs a work visa - in November and December. Troutman Photography is serving the Willamette Valley. _________________________________________
