Wanted Subject Captured in Lake Oswego‏

Police say Darrell Singleton was captured while committing another crime in Lake Oswego.

(LAKE OSWEGO, Ore.) - Police in Lake Oswego say Darrell Singleton, wanted on outstanding warrants by the Washington County Sheriff's Office, was arrested during the commission of additional new crimes here in Lake Oswego. A female accomplice was also arrested.

Lake Oswego Patrol Officer Clayton Simon says he found the two walking in a residential neighborhood a little after 4:00 AM.

"The two were both carrying backpacks with the female also carrying multiple tennis rackets."

Officer Simon says he attempted to contact the two, but they quickly disappeared. The officer says he found that at least some of the carried items had been discarded.

"The two were located hiding in nearby brush where they were contacted and identified," he added. After further inquiry by officers, a nearby residence was located that had been burglarized and vehicles in the area had been prowled.

32-year old Darrel Lamar Singleton was charged with the new crimes of first-degree Burglary, with bail set at $50,000, and two counts of Unlawful Entry into a Motor Vehicle. The bail for those charges is $7,500 each. In addition, police say the Washington County Warrants served were an Abscond Warrant with No Bail and a warrant for Failure To Appear on a Burglary First Degree charge Bail $40,000.

Police say 30-year old Tami Sue Waite was arrested and charged with first-degree Burglary, with $50,000 bail, two counts of Unlawful Entry to a Motor Vehicle Bail, with bail for each charge set at $7,500, and second-degree Theft with bail set at $7,500.

Lake Oswego Police say both were lodged at the Clackamas County Jail.
