(SALEM) - Shouldn’t life take a vacation at Christmas? Why can’t the complexities go away or be less painful during the holidays?

The production of “It’s a Wonderful Cul-de-Sac”will bring this story to life during an Evening in December--Salem Alliance Church’s annual holiday recipe for Christmas inspiration, Nov. 30th, and Dec. 1st-3rd.

“It’s a Wonderful Cul-de-Sac” is a heart-warming story set in a beautiful cul-de-sac--Christmas Court--where five families are all struggling with finding the holiday spirit in the midst of their messy holiday lives.

Dave Hastings, the church’s Director of Worship, says like most people, we've all mumbled the phrase,” I hate the holidays” at one time or another because expectations run high and time is always scarce during the Christmas season.

“During this Christmas holiday, these neighbors will eventually discover that life's all about choices,” Hastings said. ‘Doors open and doors close as they encounter God’s grace in all of its Christmas wonder, joy and hope.”

Using music, drama, orchestra and the songs of the season, Evening in December has drawn over 5,000 people for 18 years to enjoy a new story of hope and joy for the Christmas season.

Performed and professionally presented by a cast and crew of more than 200 volunteers, Evening in December is perhaps the largest Christmas music event in Oregon outside of Portland.

Performances will be held Nov. 30th through Dec. 1st-2nd at 7:00 PM, and at 5:00 PM on Dec. 3rd.

Tickets may be purchased weekdays at the church at 555 Gaines Street, N.E., or online at www.salemalliance.org
