Nota Bene No. 18 - The Ann Colder Story

(SALEM) - Many readers have asked to learn more about the world in which FDR XIII wins the election of 2012. Long before the android who channels the spirit of the former president is elected as leader of the Union of American States, the life of a woman is sent a dark direction through an accident. No, she is not a mutant whose parents worked at a nuclear facility, but her fate is nevertheless altered by an event of a different sort. A little more truth can now be revealed in "The Ann Colder Story" -- the first of the Secret Origins series.

Leonardo of Salem is a writer and artist who focuses on issues local, national and international, on culture, education, and the politics of parallel worlds.

Watch for a new and exciting installment of Nota Bene by Leonardo each and every Wednesday here at Salem-News.com.

when i was a class 2 weapons dealer I sold Annie some hand grenades from Texas, she thought they looked reassuring in their olive drab coolness

Thank you, Dahveed. It's very kind of you to say so. There's a "look" that I strive for, and I'm glad that you find it appealing.

Dahveed December 5, 2006 4:10 am (Pacific time)

I find your toon art-work interesting, very interesting in its semi-realistic varying monotone colorage; I like the style.

Henry Ruark December 4, 2006 2:03 am (Pacific time)

Right on, L. ! Art becomes truly meaningless when perverted for political purposes by misinterpretation of viewers. Yours deservedly stands-on-own, for its own impacts, wisely "elsewhere" !

Blackhill December 3, 2006 7:27 pm (Pacific time)

Dahveed, you sound like you're a well read guy. You're very familiar with John Dean, no doubt. What are your comments about his take on the founding fathers and their conservative persuation?

Leonardo December 3, 2006 12:56 pm (Pacific time)

Whatever are you talking about? My strip is strictly about alternate earths. Please restrict your comments to the material as presented. I have very little to say about our planet.

Dahveed December 3, 2006 1:55 am (Pacific time)

What a lot of energy to waste on pushing ignorance and hatred. FYI our founding fathers WERE conservative, NOT liberal as you try to convey by hi-jacking the true meaning of their statement that "all men are created equal" Maybe you should do yourself and your readers a favor and actually read more about George and Tom and Patrick, etc. and what they believed so that you may come to an accurate understanding of just how conservative they really were. Ann Coulter has bigger nads than most men in the field of journalism these days, and she gets much respect from this free-thinker for her ballsy stand on truth and moral issues. BRAVO Ann!

Leonardo December 1, 2006 5:36 am (Pacific time)

The story-line will wander between many alternate earths as it continues over past, preent and future. Ann Colder is bound to reappear. Thanks for reading NB.

I hope this continues......
