(WOODBURN) - The North Marion County Firefighters Annual Food Drive will be held this Saturday from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM.

Firefighters from the Woodburn, Hubbard, Aurora, Donald and Waconda stations will be driving through their respective communities.

The Boy Scouts representing their local troops will assist firefighters.

This year, the Cub Scouts will be distributing plastic bags asking that you deposit your nonperishable food items including soups, beans, vegetables, fruits, pastas, etc. into the sacks so that firefighters and the Boy Scouts may come along on Saturday and pick them up.

When you hear the sirens on your block, bring your food items to your door or leave the sacks at curbside. If you do not want the sirens to sound on your street, please call your local fire department and every effort will be made to meet your request on the day of the food drive.

Food collected in the Woodburn area will help provide food boxes to nearly 400 families through the distributing network of the St. Vincent De Paul Society.

Food collected in the Hubbard, Donald, Aurora area will be distributed through the Hubbard Police Reserves organization.

The Hubbard Police Reserves will be helping over 100 families in the North Marion County area.

The Hubbard Police Reserves are accepting cash and food donations.

Drop of locations for nonperishable food donations include: Aurora Fire District, Woodburn Fire District Headquarters Station and Hubbard City Hall.
