Police Investigating Death of Elderly Salem Woman

Anyone with information on the woman's death is urged to contact the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

(SALEM) - Just after 3:30 AM Tuesday morning, Marion County Sheriff's Deputies received a call to 403 45th Ave SE in Salem on a report of a deceased elderly female.

77-year-old Florence Boatwright was found dead in her home Sheriff's spokesman Kevin Rau said.

While investigators continue to investigate the manner and time of death, they believe it is clearly a result of homicidal violence.

As this investigation is in its beginning stages, no additional information is available at this time.
