(HERAT, Afghanistan) - During a ceremony held Thursday at the Shindand Governor's Palace, government officials and the Herat Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) facilitated the donation of 12,000 fruit trees to local farmers from six districts in Afghanistan's Herat province. The program is part of a coordination plan between the PRT and the U.N.'s Disbandment of Illegal Armed Groups (DIAG) initiative, with the aim of boosting the local economy and eradicating illegal activity in the area, such as the cultivation of opium. A similar project for nine other districts in Herat is expected for the future.

Hey, Copper ! Yours typical "call for help"...better talk to councilor, somehow, soon... seeking such channel for hearing is direct sign.

Quote: Anyone involved is "in it" for dollars The system sucks. It's set up to support illigal activity. Honest men always finish last or simply lose. Crime pays, just don't get caught.

Copper: "Put-down" not intended but that attitude tied to stage next to destructive collapse...speaking from couseling experience, aided by close-one who was Freudian psychotherapist. SO please take-as-meant, not as "attack", which negative in your possible state.
Henry Ruark November 30, 2006 5:18 am (Pacific time)
Copper: That's a special kind of attitude defined as "arrogance", and often associated with personality deficits brought on by drug buse. Is that what you are telling us ?

A haaaa, C'itall: One can not buy what i've got see....it's a gift from God, you see. The ability to live and let live without being disturbed by what others think or do. I have no control over the rest of the world. thank God for that!
C'itall November 29, 2006 1:39 pm (Pacific time)
You've got to be kidding, that's your solution? "If you can't beat em, join em"? Thanks anyhow, but I think we can do better than to encourage people to sell drugs and enjoy the down and dirty high-risk go-nowhere blackmarket lifestyle. Odd idea. I would however like to encourage you to cut back a little on whatever it is you're indulging in, it's apparently taking a toll.

"Truth": Don't include "the government" as entire entity in what some perverted CIA-ers may be doing and have done...that's open to same clean-out as in Afghan...and light of day shining on it now via disclosures such as you cite. Question: Do we have will as nation-and-citizens to take back what is Constitutionally our own ?
Henry Ruark November 29, 2006 7:27 am (Pacific time)
To all: "See also" OREGONIAN A10 News Focus "U.N. report" showing that Afghan government corruption permits ongoing opium production worth $3.1 BILLION, exported worldwide. Does that alter your attitude, Gram ? C-Mudge, I agree it'll take more than free fruit trees to clean this up --with first steps clearly indicated in govt. comments reacting to pressures from U.N. report and world wide reactions via Internet...more proof of new world to which we contribute here.
The Truth November 28, 2006 6:10 pm (Pacific time)
According to Mike Ruppert (ex. L.A.P.D.) his documentary, "The Truth and Lies of 9/11." states that the C.I.A. is the largest drug traffiking entity in the United States. The government professes to want one thing but knows that the way to raise money is the sale of opiates among other drugs. African Americans in the inner cities know all too well that the police and other people in government are the largest double agents around. Try to get the general naive public to face the truth. The same people that are so pro-American are the same people that outsource your job to India or the Phillipines

CMud and Gram: Appreciate your warm cooperative comments, but can you please do your woo on another channel ?? Gram, doubt if he's good for cut anyhow, but do like his insights.
Curmudgeon November 27, 2006 2:16 am (Pacific time)
It's a great concept, but it's not realistic to expect farmers to give up a crop that is the only thing they have ever known. The starry-eyed dreamers are expecting people who live in abject poverty to take a pay cut.
