(SALEM) - A semi truck loaded with whipping cream that overturned just north of the Portland Road exit on I-5 is still slowing traffic in both directions.

The accident occurred just after 6:00 AM this morning when the truck traveling northbound on I-5 overturned and landed in the median blocking northbound and southbound lanes.

Traffic is able to get by in single lanes on each side of the highway. Oregon Department of Transportation crews are cleaning up diesel and the some of the contents that spilled from the trailer.

ODOT does not have an estimated time for when the highway will be completely open.

It may take several hours to clean up the accident and remove the truck.

Were they whip creme cans filled with nitrous oxide? I would loved to have sucked up that mess!

Was there whipped cream all over the highway?! What a tragic Thanksgiving news story!
