(VANCOUVER, Wash.) - Less than twenty-four hours before the 2010 NAIA Cross Country National Championships begin at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site in Washington, the NAIA national office announced that four members of Corban's men's and women's cross country teams were honored for their work in the classroom as Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.

On the women's side, 306 student-athletes were honored including 13 Cascade Collegiate Conference runners with juniors Courtney Welling (Springfield, Oregon) and Melody Haidle (Ontario, Oregon) listed. The men's list included 184 student-athletes and 11 Cascade Collegiate Conference harriers with senior Jason Hardrath (Baker City, Oregon) and junior Caleb Goins (Scio, Oregon) as honorees.

Corban's cross country teams wrapped up their respective schedules two weeks ago at the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships, as the men finished sixth and the women ending in eighth place.
