(PAGOSA SPRINGS, Co.) - The State of Colorado issued an Amber Alert on Wednesday morning after a 15-year old girl was apparently abducted Tuesday night in Pagosa Springs. The suspect reportedly has a criminal history and police believe they may be headed to Mexico. Kanyon Nicely is a white female, 15 years old with black hair and brown eyes, 5' 7" and 115 pounds. The suspect is Travis Farmer, a 20 year old white male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 156 pounds with blue eyes, and black hair. The suspect vehicle is a a white Dodge Ram 2500 diesel pickup truck with a Pap Paving logo on the driver and passenger door and a 100-gallon fuel tank in the bed. The truck has a Colorado license plate 534-LZA. Police say Farmer is an auto theft suspect, and they believe that he and the girl are on their way to Mexico. Farmer, a resident of of Pagosa Springs, is wanted on a second-degree kidnapping charge. Kanyon Nicely is considered missing and a possible runaway. "She is a juvenile, and we are concerned for her safety," Detective Scott Maxwell of the Pagosa Springs Police told reporters. Farmer was last seen just after midnight leaving his sister's home in Pagosa Springs. "He left a note saying he was afraid that he would go back to prison on a separate case," said Maxwell, adding that Farmer was arrested earlier this year for auto theft and weapon charges. "So he decided to blow town." The Web blog care2.com reports that investigators learned from one of Farmer's friends that he may have taken Nicely with him, and that they were heading to Mexico. It was not known if Farmer was armed. Maxwell said Farmer and Nicely had only started dating in the past week, and that her parents had disapproved of the relationship. Anyone with information is asked to call the Pagosa Springs Police Department at 970-264-4151 or dial 911.
