Discount Cigarettes Store in Albany Robbed - Suspect Sought

(ALBANY, Oregon) - On Saturday at about 7:00 p.m., the Albany Police Department responded to the Discount Cigarettes store located at 2850 SE Santiam Highway on the report of an armed robbery. The lone store employee told police the store had been robbed.

The employee reported that a male suspect entered the store and pulled a stocking cap down over his face. The employee reported that the suspect displayed what appeared to be a semi-automatic handgun and demanded money from her. The employee gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash after which time the suspect left the store and ran east through the parking lot.

Video surveillance viewed at the scene shows the suspect was a white male adult, approximately 5'10" in height, stocky build, with long blond hair. The suspect was wearing blue jeans, a blue t-shirt, a red/maroon jacket with a hood, and a pink and blue stocking cap.
