Salem, Willamette Valley Under Dense Fog Advisory

Today's forecast: Widespread dense fog, mainly before 10:00 AM. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 52.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect for the mid-Willamette Valley until 10:00 AM this morning.

The National Weather Service says widespread fog will continue this morning across the southern and central Willamette Valley. Areas of dense fog can be expected with visibilities at or below one quarter of a mile. The fog will lift to a low cloud deck after 10:00 AM.

A Dense Fog Advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduce to less than one quarter mile. If driving this morning -- SLOW DOWN, USE YOUR HEADLIGHTS, and leave Plenty of Distance between you and the vehicle in front of you.

Salem, Mid-Willamette Valley Forecast From Salem-News.com:

Today: Widespread dense fog, mainly before 10:00 AM. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 52. Calm wind becoming south southwest between 4 and 7 mph.

Tonight: Occasional rain, mainly after 4am. Low around 43. South wind between 7 and 13 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

Friday: Occasional showers, mainly before 10am. High near 58. South southwest wind between 10 and 13 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

Saturday: Periods of rain, mainly before 10am. High near 54. South southwest wind between 7 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

Veteran's Day: A 50 percent chance of rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 52.

Monday: A chance of showers. Cloudy, with a high near 50.
