(SALEM) - The Marion County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with the Marion Polk Foster Parents Association, announces the start of the annual “Santa Central” program.

The program’s objective is to ensure that every child placed in the care of the foster parents association wake up with gifts under their tree Christmas morning. Currently there are approximately 1800 children in the program, mostly victims of abuse, neglect, or abandonment. Anyone wishing to donate money to help grant Christmas wishes for these very deserving children may do so through any branch of the Wells Fargo bank, in care of “Santa Central”.

One-Hundred percent of all funds donated go directly to purchasing gifts and are tax deductible 501 (c) 3. Anyone interested in helping support a foster child in Marion or Polk Counties can contact Melinda Flemming at (503) 363-3143.
