(OREGON CITY, Ore.) - Congressman Kurt Schrader released the following statement on his reelection: "I received a phone call from Scott this morning congratulating our team on winning reelection. I appreciated his kind words and support and I wish him, Alison, and his family all the best. "As I said last night I would not be where I am today without the hundreds of volunteers and staff who worked tirelessly to make today a reality. This is also a victory for them and for the hardworking men and women on my Congressional staff who do a great job helping me represent this district. "These are difficult times for Oregon families and I am honored by the trust they have shown in me to continue working to bring our local and national economy back. Oregonians clearly dismissed the mythology and misinformation that was especially pervasive this year and recognized that I’m still the same budget watchdog and small business supporter I was as a member of the Oregon Legislature. "Now that the campaign is over, it’s time to roll up our sleeves and get back to work rebuilding this country. Oregonians and Americans want to see their government working for them. They are tired of partisan bickering and want to see both parties work together to move our country forward. As a legislator, and congressman, I have always prided myself in my ability to work with members of both parties and I look forward to continuing that commitment with this newly elected Congress.” Articles for November 3, 2010 | Articles for November 4, 2010 | Articles for November 5, 2010 | Support Salem-News.com: Quick Links

Shrader's status as a democrat in a republican-controlled congress will make him essentially irrelevant. Rep. Walden will have the power, so at least we will have him to work for Oregon with some real power.
