Fatal Pedestrian-Involved Crash - Highway 26 Near Welches

(PORTLAND, Ore) - Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers, with the assistance of Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, are continuing the investigation into a Thursday evening fatal pedestrian-involved fatal traffic crash on Highway 26 in the Welches area. Names will be released Friday morning.

Preliminary information indicates at 6:30 p.m. a passenger car driven by an adult male was westbound in the right lane on Highway 26 near E. Elm Avenue when it struck an elderly adult male in the traffic lane. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver was not injured.

OSP troopers from the Portland Area Command office are still on scene investigating. Hoodland Fire Department and ODOT are also assisting. Westbound lanes are still closed. Traffic updates www.tripcheck.com .
