94 Years Ago Today: Israel's Bellicose Society Launched by 'The Balfour Declaration'

(SALEM) - T.E. Lawrence, 'Lawrence of Arabia', was an honorable man whose acts helped secure the allied victory of WWI on behalf of Great Britain. It is a time that also marks the beginning of what we know today as 'Israel'- a religious government situated on land that was all once guaranteed to the Palestinians as theirs in autonomy.
The British lied.
The Balfour Declaration of 1917 set into motion a series of events that would lead to the establishment of Israel. This, even though T.E. Lawrence had promised the Arabs on behalf of his government, that if they simply helped drive the Turkish forces from Jerusalem, they would be left in peace - salaam.
Dated 2 November 1917, the Balfour Declaration was a letter from Great Britain's Foreign Secretary Arthur James Balfour to Baron Walter Rothschild, who was a leader of the British Jewish community. The letter authorized the Zionist Federation of Great Britain and Ireland.
Balfour stated:
"His Majesty's government view with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people, and will use their best endeavours to facilitate the achievement of this object, it being clearly understood that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine, or the rights and political status enjoyed by Jews in any other country."
This is where the plan hit the wall, there are no equal rights for non-Jews in Israel, and this is something that can easily be verified.
The declaration, a typed letter signed in ink by Balfour, does not even reference the promise made by T.E. Lawrence:
Dear Lord Rothschild,
I have much pleasure in conveying to you, on behalf of His Majesty's Government, the following declaration of sympathy with Jewish Zionist aspirations which has been submitted to, and approved by, the Cabinet:
"His Majesty's Government view with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people, and will use their best endeavours to facilitate the achievement of this object, it being clearly understood that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine, or the rights and political status enjoyed by Jews in any other country".

In Israel there are laws for Jews and laws for non-Jews, the most impacted group as a result of that are the kids, living under occupation, who can be tossed behind bars at the age of six for throwing a rock. There are thousands of children being held by Israel for 'stone throwing' and this, while the Israelis are perfectly immune from prosecution if they do it.

An online group called Tablet: A NEW READ ON JEWISH LIFE sent a story to our newsroom about new statistics indicating Portland, Oregon's Jewish population is twice what people have traditionally believed. Finding this interesting, I wrote to the group to determine whether or not we could republish the story, or a significant part of it, and a representative wrote back cheerfully granting permission to republish.
So then I went back to the Website, and caught a story titled, Girls at War, "How a group of teenage believers could reshape the Israeli-Palestinian struggle" by Elizabeth Rubin, who also writes for the New York Times.
I had a feeling I wasn't going to like it, and it was even worse than expected; a saga of a giggling gaggle of armed girls who are pretty on the outside, but brutal, thuggish and deadly vengeful on the inside. The thing about Israeli youth, is that they can get away with murder. I mean that, they can literally avoid punishment for hurting or killing Arabs.
The biggest individual threats to peace in Israel and Palestine are the hardcore settlers; religious fundamentalists who absolutely hate Arab people; families have occupied this land for hundreds of years. Most of the Israeli girls are from families who migrated from Europe. As the article states, they were born into this militant life and their experience is unique among Israelis, because most do not live in settlements, most live in Israel's cities and towns. Even though all citizens of Israel are forced to serve in the military, many see little in the way of action. These girls live in a place where relations between settlers and Palestinians could not be worse.
Price Tag Campaign
This is the 'price tag campaign' region, a name given to an ongoing militant Zionist faction born out of retaliation to government restrictions on settlement building, launched by settlers regarded by Israeli media as "extremists", after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared a temporary building freeze in West Bank construction in 2009. Haaretz wrote an article about a settler family in the area that was murdered last March.
In IDF continues mass West Bank arrests in wake of Itamar massacre - Haaretz, writers Amos Harel and Avi Issacharoff talked about the reaction to the Fogel family murder in Palestine:
"A human being is not capable of something like that," Abbas said Monday in an interview with Israel Radio. "Scenes like these - the murder of infants and children and a woman slaughtered - cause any person endowed with humanity to hurt and to cry."Residents of the village of Burin, who have fallen victim to settlers' attacks several times, told Haaretz on Saturday that the murder in Itamar was an abominable act. Palestinian columnists, journalists and private citizens also sharply denounced the attack.
The Palestinian leadership, however, remained hesitant. Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad said he objected to all acts of violence, but the leaders implied the incident in Itamar may not have been a terror attack. Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Malki said no Palestinian had ever murdered an infant or civilians in such a manner, either for nationalist causes or in revenge, "which raises doubts regarding Israel's haste to accuse the Palestinians."
Malki's statement led to rumors on the Palestinian side, culminating Monday with Palestinian websites reporting Israeli police had arrested a Thai worker on suspicion of murdering the Fogel family.
For the crime of throwing rocks, Palestinian kids as young as six are taken from their families, tossed behind bars, abused and kept in pretrial confinement for months because Israeli laws are written to allow this.
In a recent prisoner exchange, over a thousand Palestinians were released for the freedom of a single Israel Defence Force POW, Gilad Shilat. Not one Palestinian child was released. Almost all are held for throwing rocks, many say they didn't even throw a rock, yet only a confession on a Hebrew document, which the Arab kids can't read, gets them released. And if they sign the papers, they and their families are then on probation with the Israeli government, thus losing more rights and that is sad when a society is already living under the boot of a brutal occupation.
So what happens to Jews when they throw rocks at Arabs? According to The Tablet it is perfectly OK.
... Roni said that the day after the murder, everyone in Tapuach went down to the junction and threw rocks at Arabs. “We all wanted revenge. We just won’t cry and feel sorry for ourselves. We will do something about it. You know? If someone comes to kill you, then you kill them first, says the Torah.” Tapuach was notorious for “price tag” vengeance—which is nothing new in outlying settlements where Jewish vigilantes have been known to take the law into their hands. What was new to me was the vigorous and organized participation of adolescent girls.
The Tablet and the New York Times apparently accept this rock throwing of Jews, they even go so far as to celebrate these misguided militants, what excuse exists for media regarding such disparity without crying out?
Born and raised in this environment of theft and danger, grief, free houses and vanity, the Israeli girls- in all fairness, were not allowed to grow up under normal conditions, and they are warring by nature, regardless of whether or not they are attractive - something that seems to capture the extensive interest of the writer.
I have to wonder sometimes whether the Jewish community at large is completely brain dead, or if the worst of the theories are all true. Harsh? Maybe, but there is nothing about any race or religion that sets them aside, gives them more rights due to their ancestor's hardships, that is legit. Israel is not a legitimate government as long as their entire national existence is based upon the very specific teachings of a particular faith.
Israel is an apartheid state, yet they are celebrated in America, and it is wrong and sad. America is one of only 14 countries in the United Nations that recently voted against Palestine receiving full statehood. The video clip is embarrassing and very indicative of the desires of the U.S., the U.K. and Israel in particular. There are many Jewish groups like b'tselem and Society for Humanistic Judaism, The Israeli Peace Now movement (Shalom Achshav), Americans for Peace and others. The Balfour Declaration was a burn, but it happened under the provision that people of other faiths would be granted freedom, in this Israel has utterly failed.

Israel has made itself into an isolated militant supremacist theocracy/ethnocracy with ICBM nukes; a very real and rapidly increasing threat to itself and to the whole world. A pariah among nations. United States must stand aside. UN and NATO can then justly impose resolution just as involuntary, disruptive and humiliating to Israel as Israel has wreaked upon occupied Palestine for generations. The Jewish State must be made to recognize an armed Palestine with UN and NATO enforced autonomy, eviction of all settlers, true contiguity encompassing Gaza, the West Bank and Jerusalem together, neither pinched nor parceled, and pay PUNITIVE REPARATIONS.

it was NOT a Thai worker who killed the Fogel family in their sleep. It was two guys from the next-door Arab village. They confessed with pride.
Tim King: Bullshit, your fascist government made the two teens confess after harassing the residents of a neighboring village beyond belief. It is a fact that the family had debts they weren't paying, they had enemies, and those two kids from Atamar whose families rightfully own the property Itamar stole for its development, were just a little more convenient since they fit the mold of who Israel wanted to convict.

The Israeli press is ablaze this morning with the news that the killers of the Fogel family in the illegal colony of Itamar in the occupied West Bank have been found. After several weeks of besieging the village of Awarta, arresting virtually all of its inhabitants, and causing extensive property damage, the Israeli authorities have announced that two teenagers from the village have admitted to carrying out the killings.
This particular case has been quite interesting, because of the fact that all Palestinian factions publicly distanced themselves from it and denied responsibility for carrying it out. Despite the Israeli government immediately blaming it on Palestinian ‘terror’ without any proof and using the death of the Fogels as an excuse to further expand the illegal colonization of the West Bank, a gag order was placed on the investigation as rumors and theories grew about who the actual culprit may have been.

Editor: Too bad for you Ernst, some of my greatest friends and allies are Jewish and they're helping to bring truth and freedom to the story of Palestine also, a person who hates anyone over their religion has no place in my world, this is only technically even about religion, it is about occupation, removing rights and oppression.
