A permit is not required to harvest, possess, or transport less than one gallon in Oregon. ----------------- That's not true. It depends on which forest you happen to be in... i.e. U.S. Forest service lands, BLM, State parks, It's best to know before you go. And certain mushrooms such as Matsutake and truffles require a special license or permissions to harvest. The fines are stiff if you get caught without a proper free use or commercial permit. There are some areas you can pick without a permit, but you better know if you are in one of those areas before you start picking.
